Jhessica Martins, Science Teacher

Ms. Martins is starting her third year at PCA.  She is the Science teacher and volleyball coach.  We are excited to have her join us this year.

"Science is a field that always drove me. I remember being in elementary school and being asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, and my answer was always to become a science teacher. This desire and motivation came from my mom, who is and always has been a role model for me as a teacher, professional, strong women, and God follower.

I do believe that everything happens for a reason, and within God’s plan for each of us. We just need to work hard, and rest and trust in Him, and the best outcome will come, at His time."

Susan Legg, Middle School English & Bible

My name is Susan Legg. I live in Toney with my daughter Abygail who will a sophomore at Calhoun this fall.. We moved to Alabama from Arizona this past June to be closer to my family. We are loving southern life and definitely not missing an Arizona summer! I love to read, cook, and craft. Before we moved if you needed a book to read, a recipe, or any random craft supply I was the  go to girl! Alas, I had to part with so many items to move across country…I guess that means I get to restock! I received my BS degree from California Baptist University, my education degree from Chapman University, and classwork for Masters of Christian Ed at Gateway Baptist Seminary. This is my second year here at Pineview, and I have been teaching for the past 33 years. I have taught everything from preschool through high school. I have taught in California, Arizona, and Texas before moving to Alabama. I can’t wait to get to know all of you!

Marion Ibsen, Art Teacher

My name is Marion Ibsen and I am thrilled to be on staff at Pineview Christian Academy. Our family has been a part of this community since 2020. I began my art career in 1999 in Phoenix, AZ where I was born and raised.  I began by learning decorative art techniques and over the years have studied many different art forms including watercolor, acrylic, oils, empasto, multimedia and more.  I have even spent some time researching art history.

In 2017 I opened my own art studio in Ardmore, TN and have enjoyed teaching art classes and facilitating paint parties for many groups including the Giles County Chamber, the Giles County Library and even the Boys and Girls club in Pulaski.  Whether I am teaching one on one or in a group I love sharing my passion for art and art techniques with others.

Some of my favorite things include spending time with my family, long car rides and Ice cream.  In my spare time, I love to read, sew and eat Mexican food.
