Christy Manders, Kindergarten Teacher
Mrs. Manders has been a Kindergarten teacher for over 30 years. Mrs. Manders has been on staff at PCA for nine years. She attends church at the Endeavor Church where her husband is a deacon. Mrs. Manders loves planning crafts, worshiping God through song with her class and co-workers, and spending time with her family. "I am thankful that God brought me to PCA, for allowing me to serve here as a PCA Warrior."

Sarah Ortner, 1st Grade Teacher
I have been at PCA as a 1st-grade teacher for five years and was a PreK teacher here at PCA for 8 years. I have been teaching full-time since 2010 when I graduated from Athens State University with a degree in Elementary Education. My husband Chad is a pastor here in Harvest. We have 2 children, Connor and Savanah, and a shih-tzu named Chewy. I love spending time with family and friends, reading, being outdoors, laughing, and music. Teaching and Jesus are both passions in my life, and being able to combine both in my classroom each day is an honor.

Jennifer Picard, 2nd Grade Teacher
“ I believe every child is wonderfully created by a loving God with unique gifts, incredible potential, and a purpose that matters. My greatest hope is that each student leaves my classroom not only growing as a reader and learner, but also believing in themselves, embracing the power of “yet,” and knowing that mistakes are simply part of learning. I strive to create a classroom where every child feels seen, valued, encouraged, and excited to discover what they are capable of.
With experience teaching reading and a passion for hands-on exploration, I love creating meaningful learning experiences that spark curiosity and build confidence. Whether we’re diving into a great book, conducting an experiment, or solving a challenging problem together, my goal is to nurture lifelong wonder and a love of learning that extends far beyond the classroom. ”

Penny Wetterer, 3rd Grade Teacher
Hello! My name is Penny Wetterer, and I am so excited to be joining the PCA family this year.
I have an amazing husband, Matt, and together we have been blessed with six wonderful children, ranging in age from 7 to 22. Our family has also grown to include a wonderful daughter-in-law and the sweetest grandson, Sutton, who has completely stolen our hearts.
This is my first year at PCA, and I couldn't be more excited to begin this new chapter. I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education as well as a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. For the past four and a half years, I taught at another Christian private school, and before that I served with the Special Education Department in the Madison County School System. I believe every child is uniquely created by God and I am passionate about meeting students where they are academically while encouraging and challenging them to reach their fullest potential. I value building meaningful relationships with my students and partnering with families to provide a Christ-centered education. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and I feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to partner with families in providing a Christ-centered education.
When I'm not in the classroom, you'll usually find me cheering from the sidelines at one of my children's sporting events or traveling to New York to visit our son, his wife, and our precious grandson. My family and I attend Church of the Highlands, and our faith is at the center of everything we do.
I look forward to getting to know each of you and am excited for a wonderful year together at PCA!
